Welcome to Turtle's World!

Useful Websites!

Greetings! This page is focused on providing direct links to many many websites or downloadable tools that I have either found at least one use for myself or that I just find cool!!! I hope they can provide you help too!!!

Tools

This section mostly consists of websites which are tools of some kind.

Cobalt

Cobalt is the best way to download content from a variety of supported services. YouTube support is very shaky and can go down at times, but it's easily my favourite service like this due to how safe I feel using it.

Color Hunt

Color Hunt is a website I came across recently when a friend was using it to decide on a colour scheme for a character. I like it and I'll definitely find a use for it in the future!

Cool Backgrounds

Ever quickly needed to come up with a quick background for some kind of presentation, a video thumbnail, or something else? Well this website has you covered! It's fairly limited, but also very customisable at the same time. And the best part? It's all done through scripting! No generative AI! Wahoo!

Realtime Colors

Realtime Colors is good for helping come up with colour schemes for websites by showing them in action on example pages!

Minecraft

This section contains a variety of websites which are useful for Minecraft players. The word Minecraft just above is also a direct link to the Minecraft Wiki.

Prism Launcher

For the longest time, I was not interested in third party launchers. I ended up using the Modrinth launcher briefly when I was playing with some friends, but something that I had been aware of for a while was stuck in the back of my mind. The Prism Launcher. After finally giving it a go, I can easily say that it is the best launcher you could ever ask for. It's very lightweight, and opens in less time than it takes to say Prism. Creating instances is so quick and easy, yet you have so many options. You can choose a regular version, and then link it up with a mod loader to select your own mods, or directly download a modpack from Modrinth or Curseforge and have it all set up for you in seconds. No need to manually install Fabric or Forge. It does it all by itself. It also stores each instance entirely separately, which means mods and resource packs are kept to one single instance, no need to swap them all out just to play something else. ...This also does apply to screenshots though, so make sure to back them up before you delete an instance.

Chunker

Chunker is an open-source tool that allows users to convert Minecraft Worlds between Java and Bedrock edition, and even different versions of those editions. You can view a preview of your world's map, prune unused chunks that are tkaing up space, change many world settings including some that you cannot normally do, and even turn all of one type of block in a world to a completely different block! There's a lot to be done, and the tool has been super helpful to me on multiple occasions, including managing to uncorrupt a world file that wouldn't load on Bedrock! The tool is maintained by Hive Games, the developers of the The Hive Minecraft server! It gets approximately one update per month, so don't worry about your game version being incompatible for too long!

Chunkbase

Whilst not something I'll always use in an active survival world, Chunkbase is an incredibly helpful web tool which allows you to find out all about a world just from its seed! Input the seed, select the version, and you can find everything!

Block Palettes

Looking for inspiration? This website features six-block palettes to help you decide what to use for your next project! I've used it a couple of times when I'm a little bored in my creative building test world and I've created...things!

MapartCraft

This website converts an image into blocks which you can then use to create map art for your worlds. It's very customisable in the material selection! You can save, export, and share palettes if you want to reuse the same block selection! You can also filter by version.

bedrock.dev

bedrock.dev is a website which is incredibly useful if you're looking to work on Add-Ons for the Bedrock Edition of the gamne

Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Creator Documentation

Similar to bedrock.dev, but official! It comes wih guides to help you learn.

Bedrock Sample Files

A complete official download to the latest resource and behviour packs for Bedrock Edition. Helpful for understanding Add-On file structure.

Blockception's Minecraft Bedrock Development VSCode Extension

A super useful Visual Studio Code extension which can help you with writing code for mcfunctions, which are files you can put in Add-Ons which execute a series of specified commands, but can also take advanage of additional features.

gbgShop — Game Builder Garage

Game Builder Garage is a Nintendo Swtich title that allows you to, with limitations, create your own games and experiences. The primary negative thing about this release is the fact that it comes with no built-in way to share games with others. Websites over the years have taken on this role, with the current one being gbgShop. It features a large, constantly growing collection of games. There are also ways to become part of the community, with Game Jams and more! I've always been interested in GBG but have never had the chance to pick it up. This website makes me want to, though!

Every Switch Demo

Looking to try something new? This is a direct link to a list made by Nintendo Everything that consists of every single demo available in North America and Europe for Nintendo Switch.

Hacks Guide — Various Consoles

This website is the best and safest place to follow guides to install homebrew and custom firmware for the Nintendo Wii, 3DS, Wii U, Switch, and PS Vita. Though these are the safest guides, please only modify your own consoles at your own risk.

hShop — Nintendo 3DS

hShop is a preservation project for all Nintendo 3DS software.

FrontierNav

FrontierNav is an extremely helpful hub of information about various games, providing full maps, user-submitted guides, crafting recipes, and other such things about different games to help you on your journeys!

Game UI Database

The Game UI Database is exactly what it says on the lid. Here, you can find game screenshots and videos from a TON of different games, 1497 at the time of writing, all focusing on the look of UI elements.
